Evelyn Lozada is keeping the focus on herself as of late, but that didn’t stop fans from taking sides in her beef with “Basketball Wives” co-star Ogom ” O.G.” Chijindu.
The longtime star of “Basketball Wives” posted a photo to her Instagram account Sept. 17 wearing a casual outfit composed of a gray crop top graphic tee and gray distressed jeans with dad sneakers. Lozada’s hair was straightened and swept over one shoulder as she shielded her eyes from the sun in oversized shades.
“Life is better when you’re smiling 😁#Blessed #Grateful #HappyLife,” read the reality TV star’s caption.
Fans initially began by doling out compliments to the celeb.
“Goals 😍 you look amazing”
“Pretty self 😍😍😍😍”
“And when you have so a beautiful body and personality.”
But not everyone agrees with that last comment. Ahead of catching “Basketball Wives” this week, Lozada’s fans began to voice their support for her, while viewers of the VH1 reality show backed O.G. days after the retired Legends Football League cornerback accused her co-star of being racist.
“BYE EVILYN! 🖕🏾”
“@evelynlozada keep on smiling girl! How dare ToeG try to get you fired & she’s the one talking about killing people on tape? Pffftt!! I’m on your side 😘”
“Mean Girl #1”
“@evelynlozada i just came because of the toes🤣🤣u are the baddest I can’t stand Toes-G😩”
“Ogom could never!”
Others took the time to mention the petition circulating in hopes of having Lozada booted from “Basketball Wives.”
“Girl there trying to dead you boo from the show.”
“Evelyn would you tell Me why are the ppl tryna get you boycotted from BASKETBALL WIVES??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔”
“what is your take on a petition that is going around to take you off the basketball wives show?”
The petition was popularized further after O.G. called out Lozada for appearing to compare her to an ape based on a GIF the “Livin’ Lozada” star posted on her Instagram Story earlier this month.
“And there it is.. Show your true colors you racist bigot.. You called cece ‘ling ling’ jackie a ‘cockroach’ & now me a ‘monkey’ may god take care of you well well..Evelyn lozada.. @vh1 not ok #iheartog #nigerianknockout #bbwla #vh1 #basketballwives #evelynlozadatheracist #boom,” O.G. tweeted Sept. 11.
O.G. also used Instagram to sound off and showed her support for petitions calling for Lozada to be booted on account of her alleged racism — one of which regained popularity a year after Lozada’s remark to CeCe Gutierrez sparked controversy. Since then, however, another petition has emerged urging VH1 to keep Lozada as a “BBW” cast member.
