President Donald Trump is apparently pretty upset that his predecessor Barack Obama has landed big deals after exiting the Oval Office, and he let it be known Monday morning.
In two tweets posted bright and early on Sept. 16, the commander-in-chief apparently took issue with probes into his activity as a sitting president compared to Obama’s activities after leaving 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
“House Judiciary has given up on the Mueller Report, sadly for them after two years and $40,000,000 spent – ZERO COLLUSION, ZERO OBSTRUCTION. So they say, OK, lets look at everything else, and all of the deals that ‘Trump’ has done over his lifetime. But it doesn’t….” Trump began.
“….work that way. I have a better idea. Look at the Obama Book Deal, or the ridiculous Netflix deal. Then look at all the deals made by the Dems in Congress, the ‘Congressional Slush Fund,’ and lastly the IG Reports. Take a look at them. Those investigations would be over FAST!” he concluded.
Trump touched on a range of things in his tweets. One was the Mueller report, of which former special counsel Robert Mueller has refuted Trump’s oft-repeated notion that “no obstruction” and “no collusion” was found since “collusion” is not a legal term, according to Politico. Another was the debunked idea of a “slush fund” that Congress has that has used to pay $17 million to women who have accused its members of sexual harassment or abuse.
But what caught Twitter users’ attention was Trump lashing out about the Netflix deal Obama landed with his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama. The former first couple recently discussed their first project for the streaming giant, a documentary “American Factory” that was released last month. It was produced through the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions.
“OBAMA NETFLIX OBAMA NETFLIX! shouts Trump, as he runs through the West Wing with a soup pot on his head and falls down a flight of stairs with his pants around his ankles.”
“Of COURSE he did…Ttump is SO JEALOUS!!!”
“This man really be bored as hell.”
“Really?-U got to be kidding me. For u to want someone else to be investigated, to take the focus off of u, tells me u have more to hide than I thought @POTUS . Don’t be jealous of @BarackObama and his Epic business ventures. Because we know u are! #BarackObama 4Ever MY PRESIDENT!”
After the Obamas left the White House upon Trump’s 2017 inauguration, the couple has set foot into the realm of entertainment. A development deal with Netflix was among the first to be announced in May 2018. At the time, it was reported that the couple’s multi-year agreement would involve the Obamas producing films and series for the media-services provider, potentially including both scripted and unscripted projects and docuseries.
