A seemingly innocuous photo of Halle Berry cradling a butterfly in her hand drew some attention from a hater and the actress decided to hit back.
“Today I was touched by an angel 🦋#SpiritAnimal,” read the caption of the Sept. 9 photo she posted to Instagram.
Berry appeared to place a filter on the image uploaded Monday, which accentuated the lines in the palm of her hand while an orange butterfly nestled on her index finger.
Many of the “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” star’s fans applauded the image.
“🖤😇💜😇🖤Sis you got some great energy. Butterflies love Halle and so do i💜🌠✨🖤”
“An angel touching another! 🔥😇💕”
“Beautiful! Like is drawn to like. 💜”
However, one troll chimed in to say Berry had the “The hands of a construction worker 👷🏾♀️”
“@cold_calculated seriously the same thought I had lolololololol” someone else replied while another Instagram user left a couple of crying laughing emoji.
But Berry handled things by taking the humorous route.
“@cold_calculated 🤣🤣🤣 I knew somebody was gonna crack on the 🖐🏾” she replied to the hater.
Fans then began responding by defending the star and boosting her up instead.
“@cold_calculated y’all some haters yalls hands and feet probably are looking like the ‘thing’ from fantastic four”
“This comment is a textbook example of ‘sour grapes’ *hears En Vogue singing ‘Never Gonna Get It’ on loop* 😂”
“@halleberry Being a nurse and also a mother, I’ve got gnarly hands too. All good ❤️. Our hands tend to say, ‘I have lived;’ that is when they’re used for more than typing mean comments 😊. Your hands are as amazing as you are!”
Berry’s hands may be questionable, but the star makes sure to look after her body as a whole. The actress has previously cited the consumption of bone broth as the secret to her age-defying looks.
“You can go to the butcher and pick up all of the bones they’re going to throw away — they give them to you for free,” she told Closer magazine in May. “Then you boil them for 24 hours and drink the broth. It’s full of collagen.”
Another thing she does to keep herself looking her best is to consume nutritious foods.
“The most important thing I can think of is that I eat well. I have a really good lifestyle and eating plan,” she added to the publication.”I won’t say diet because it’s not a diet — it’s a lifestyle.”
