The “Da Jordans,” aka Stevie J. and his wife Faith Evans, are days away from celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary and although skeptics suspected they were on the verge of breaking up, they say that’s not the case.
Last week, trouble in paradise rumors surrounded the couple when they unfollowed each other on social media. To add more insult to injury, the “Hitman” producer tweeted a series of enigmatic tweets which folks assumed was about his supposedly unraveling marriage.
Well, it seems everything was all hearsay and the two are going stronger than ever. While in New Orleans for the 2019 Essence Festival, TMZ caught up with the couple and asked them about separation rumors surfacing online.
Both Stevie J. and Evans acted oblivious to the rumors and Stevie J. even leaned in to give his wife a peck on the cheek, rhetorically asking, “What does this look like?” Evans, however, appeared to quickly pull away from him.
She then said she thinks she’s “in love” with her husband before telling the cameraman, “You can’t believe everything that you hear.”
Although rumors of separation and divorce circulated when the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram last week, they have since begun following each other again. Also, the “Love Like This” singer still has a couple photo of herself and Stevie as her IG avatar, and Stevie shared a social media post on Monday praising his wife for her talents.
“#DaJordans,” he wrote via Instagram. “So grateful for another successful weekend, business as usual. Baby, a true performer & she burning all stages down ☔️🌊.”
Stevie and Evans shockingly tied the knot last July 17 in their Las Vegas hotel room, surrounded by family and friends, shortly after applying for a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada.
Fans have had mixed reactions to the twosome’s denial of romantic troubled waters.
“Stay strong y’all I hope you cherish your queen 😍. I’m rooting for y’all.”
“Why would she marry him? She didn’t even wanna give him a kiss.”
“Yeah you can tell they about to breakup look at her body language.”
“That’s right Faith you can’t believe everything u hear. I love black love. Y’all are amazing. 🙏🏽.”
