‘It’s a Doozie’: Jackie Christie Promises New Season of ‘Basketball Wives’ Isn’t for the Faint of Heart

Jackie Christie has been teasing fans with glimpses of ongoing filming for “Basketball Wives” this season and even opened up her comments section to allow for conversation.

Doing so, however, led one fan to remark that they hope the star won’t wind up scrapping with anyone in the VH1 series’ 8th season.

“@jackiechristie i hope you dont fight with anyone this season! You a boss!” a fan remarked.

“@ianbelize awe thank youπŸ™πŸ˜ disclosure this season is a doozie,” Christie warned.

The comment came following a teaser for what viewers can expect this season, which includes a scuffle that sees Evelyn Lozada lunging after a mystery cast member.

The fan’s remark was also posted under a gallery Christie shared on Instagram June 25 of her season premiere look.

“♠️ #basketballwives episode 1 #BTS SWIPE πŸ‘‰πŸ»πŸ‘‰πŸ»1,2,3 4πŸŽ₯ catch us every Weds at 8 pm /ET on @Vh1” she wrote in the caption before providing details on her outfit.

Christie’s straight brown hair was styled by the Hair Doc, and her floral blouse featured a combination of Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci elements. The star put on her own lipstick, while her eye look was done by Los Angeles makeup artist Chenoa Runningfox.

Meanwhile, other fans commented by boosting up Christie for her appearance.

“@jackiechristie Simply beautiful πŸ”₯πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ”

“Jackie you look amazing mommaπŸ”₯”

“Is it me or is Jackie is looking good this season πŸ₯° so beautiful!! 😊now all we need is piece within the group!!! #Blackgirlsrock.”

Perhaps Christie’s pretty looks, which she’s continued to show off on the social media app, are courtesy of a recent Jamaican getaway the star had with her hubby Doug Christie, a retired NBA player.

“Jamaica Funk! That’s what it is…. πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ”₯πŸ₯ƒ” Jackie captioned the series of photos and videos. Among the footage the star shared were images of her lounging by the pool of a massive mansion where the couple stayed. There Jackie sipped wine and smoked a cigar. In a more daring moment, Jackie told her fans she planned on going skinny-dipping while her husband watched the NBA Finals inside.

Independent journalism still matters.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
