With the crime drama “Power” ending after it’s upcoming sixth season, much of the cast has expressed ambivalence.
For example, in recent Instagram posts, La La Anthony and Naturi Naughton said how proud they are of the show and how it changed their life. But on the other hand, they expressed sadness and shock that filming is completely over.
Naughton also talked about how much she’ll miss the show during an interview with Page Six and said she’s dying to take something from her character Tasha St. Patrick’s penthouse.
“The sets are going to be destroyed,” she stated. “[I’ve] got to take something from [Tasha’s] penthouse, something from her closet, something from the living room. I [would] take the whole kitchen if I could.”
Meanwhile, other cast members sent messages about the show ending, like Omari Hardwick, who plays the protagonist James “Ghost” St. Patrick. In his post, Hardwick thanked all of the viewers and wrote about his character.
“The time. The dirt. The cold. The smiles. The process. The hurt. The joy. The euphoria. The uuugh. The agony. The bliss. The complexity,” he wrote on Tuesday. “Especially for a loving sociopath who believed in a higher self but couldn’t get his feet outa the concrete of innate urban defeat, The pain. The rain. The cold again. The snow. The 20 hr days.”
“On behalf of AAAALLLLL my incomparable cast crew & team (old & new)….i hope you had nothing but fun. #iThankYOU!!!!! ” added Hardwick.
Show creator Courtney Kemp simply posted a photo of an empty director’s chair and in the caption wrote, “Thank You.”
As for Naughton, the actress said she’ll probably take something much smaller from Tasha’s penthouse and not the “entire kitchen” as she joked.
“Something from Tasha’s makeup kit,” she stated.
