‘I Don’t Get to Talk?’: Whoopi Goldberg Once Again Puts Meghan McCain in Her Place Amid Rumor She’s Fed Up With Co-Host

Another day, another drama on “The View.”

Monday morning’s episode of the long-running ABC talker saw co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain sparring once again. The incident occurred when the conservative columnist took issue with discussion moderator Goldberg not allowing her to sound off on the topic of abortion laws in America.

“One of the things I hope all these states adopt no matter what the situation is, is that they have some mental help for these women and children who may be going through this who don’t have any place to go,” Goldberg said when the topic came back to her after co-host Sunny Hostin and guest co-host Ana Navarro weighed in with their thoughts. “If you’re slashing all of these places like Planned Parenthood where you could go and you could say this is what’s happening to someone would understand. This is a conversation that’s probably going to be happening for quite a while, so we’ll keep you posted.”

Goldberg was about to toss the show to commercial when McCain interrupted to ask, “So, I don’t get to talk? Just wondering if I can say something?” McCain appeared to be looking toward the producers for a signal or perhaps even help.

The comedienne was swift in giving McCain a directive about how the rest of the discussion would play out.

“Here’s the deal,” she began. “Now you put it out there like that. I let y’all talk, and I said nothing. We have to go to break. … If you want to say more, then we’ll come back and say more.”

The abortion chat began when the panelists addressed Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden’s reversal on his stance regarding abortion. Specifically, the former vice president changed his mind over his support of the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the use of federal funds to pay for abortion. Exceptions are if the life of the woman is at risk or if rape or incest caused the pregnancy.

After Goldberg successfully tossed to break, McCain was seen appearing to get after the host, waving her cards in the process. Then, Goldberg appeared to hit back once again. No audio was captured on-air.

Yet when the show returned from the break, McCain didn’t get to sound off on America’s abortion laws after all. Instead, the “Hot Topics” segment switched gears to discuss actress Gwyneth Paltrow living apart from her husband part-time. The subject appeared to visibly irritate McCain.

The pair’s on-air dust-up, of which there have been many, comes amid rumors that Goldberg is sick and tired of McCain, including trying to keep the peace between McCain and co-host Joy Behar, who has been out sick.

“Whoopi is at her breaking point with Meghan,” an insider claimed to DailyMail.com June 6. “She’s been trying to hang in there, especially keep the peace with Meghan and Joy, but we all know she’s about to break.”

The source went on to say McCain is rude to makeup artists and producers. They also alleged she complains about the show’s executive producers to ABC bosses.

“Even on her worst days, Whoopi tries her best to be respectful to the staff,”
the insider alleged. “Even if something upsets her or she snaps for some reason, she’ll come back and apologize and explain herself later. The team at ‘The View’ love working with her. So it’s been extremely hard for her to see Meghan come in and really bring the [morale] down. All the reports of her being ‘cold, icy and unpleasant’ are really mild compared to the truth of her personality.”

As such, having both Behar and McCain out last week was something Goldberg allegedly enjoyed. A source claimed the comic told producers, “I could get used to shows like this. You all know what the difference was today.”
