Nene Leakes did the friendly thing by promoting pal Marlo Hampton’s upcoming appearance at the Atlanta Ultimate Women’s Expo, but the response from fans was anything but that.
Leakes on Wednesday uploaded a flyer for the annual event, which will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center June 1–2.
“Go check out my sissy poo @marlohampton SATURDAY at the Women’s Expo! Y’all already know she gone be giving fashion hunni,” Leakes captioned the May 30 post.
Hampton, who has been a longtime friend of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” is set to deliver the keynote address on day one of the expo. Additionally, the stylist will have a pop-up shop focused on “The Art of Style.”
While the 30-year running event gives women access to makeovers, massages, DIY workshops, gourmet tastings and free swag with admission, several of Leakes’ followers refused to support.
“Nah, I’ll pass.”
“Joke?”
“I wish I would, Not my money or my time.”
“What’s her talent what do she do?”
By Thursday morning Leakes had closed her comments section.
Yet while fans may not want to go to the expo for Hampton, several other “RHOA” stars will be in attendance: Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams.
Leakes has issues with all three women following season 11 of “RHOA.” First, Leakes took issue with former “sister” Bailey when the model failed to tell Leakes Moore might show up to Bailey’s October Seagram’s Escapes event. Then after the reunion, which filmed in March and aired the following month, Leakes dismissed all her co-stars as nothing more than co-workers. She also took issue with them supposedly ganging up on her during the reunion’s filming.
Speaking on “Strahan and Sara” of her falling out with her longtime friend, Bailey said, “Sometimes friendships need a break.”
Meanwhile, Williams and Leakes had it out online after the reunion. A nasty text exchange between the now-foes emerged in which Leakes deemed Wiliams a “big piggy with the busted shape” days after she gave birth to daughter Pilar Jhena’.
It didn’t stop there, either. As Williams explained to People magazine, “After that whole Instagram back-and-forth that she started with me, she ended up sending me a cease-and-desist,” she said. “So once she sent me a cease-and-desist, at that point, I was like, ‘You know what? This is just a sure sign that I should be done with the relationship.’ … I’m concentrating on my baby girl. And people who love and support me at this moment.”
