Lamar Odom said he dated Taraji P. Henson in the past. Not only that, he claims they were in love with each other.
Odom’s new memoir “Darkness to Light,” released on Tuesday, is filled with a lot of page-turning information on the former NBA player’s life and career.
And while most probably associate his love life with Khloe Kardashian, whom he was married to from 2009 to 2016, Odom said it was Henson who made him the happiest.
He also said the “Empire” actress was hip to his usual games and smooth talk.
“We ended up exchanging numbers. She was just such a wise woman that she could see through whatever smooth act I was trying to put on,” he wrote. “She refused to be just another conquest and truthfully I didn’t want her to be. … One of the happiest times of my life. … I don’t think I ever connected with another black woman as deeply as I did Taraji.”
Odom also stated that he met Henson’s son Marcel, who was 14 at the time, and the young man spent every day at his house. But in the end, Odom wasn’t able to remain faithful and admitted that he messed up a relationship with someone who was ideal for him.
“Things were amazing, but of course God gave me a layup and I blew it,” he wrote.
On top of that, Odom admitted that infidelity is nothing new to him, because he’s been “obsessed” with sex for a long while. He also cheated on Kardashian during their marriage and revealed that he slept with over 2,000 women in his life. “I am a sex addict,” wrote Odom. “There were too many strippers to count. It wasn’t a big deal, but often I would pay them. I never thought less of them.”
The 39-year-old also said he impregnated a lot of women during his escapades.
“I would f—k five or six girls a week, but my demons tormented me on the one night I went home alone,” he wrote. “I needed women as an outlet, an escape. But this does not come without problems. Most of my sex has been unprotected, and I’ve paid for plenty of abortions over the years.”
As of now, Henson hasn’t responded to Odom’s claims of dating her.
