In late April, at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Cardi B admitted that she got liposuction and now it may be catching up to her.
TMZ reports that because of the surgery, she had to back out of a performance at the 92Q Spring Bling Festival in Baltimore, Maryland, scheduled for Friday, May 24.
The “I Like It” spitter was supposed to be the headliner, but doctors said she has to let the swelling diminish, because her body is still in the healing stages. Cardi received a breast augmentation as well, which is also related to the Maryland performance being postponed.
At this point, doctors said sitting still and not working for a period of time will be the best medicine for the 26-year-old, reports claim.
And that’s despite Cardi having a slew of upcoming shows, according to Live Nation, including a gig in Mansfield, Massachusetts, on June, 1, a show in Manchester, Tennessee, on June 13 and another in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 23.
In fact, the “Money” performer is booked solid with concerts for at least the next five months, but for now there’s no word if any other shows will be postponed.
It’s also been announced the replacement for the Maryland show will be on September 8, and Cardi’s handlers said she was saddened about not playing on Friday.
“Cardi says she’s very disappointed and hates to let her fans down, but she wants to reassure them that she’ll see them in September” someone from her team told TMZ.
It hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s possible the mother of one went against doctor’s orders after getting cosmetic surgery, based on what she said at the Beale Street Music Festival.
“I have some news for y’all. I should have canceled today,” she said on stage. “I shouldn’t really be performing because moving too much is gonna f— up my lipo. But bitch, I’m still gonna get my motherf—ing money back. Let’s go.”
