‘OMG!’: Tamera Mowry’s New Look Is Turning Heads for All the Right Reasons

Tamera Mowry is celebrating another year of Emmy nominations for her talk show “The Real,” but fans seem more eager about her debuting a new hairstyle instead.

The actress on Sunday uploaded a selfie to share her excitement with fans about her ensemble talk show being up for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

“Butterflies in stomach. The day has come! I’m so grateful to just be nominated for a Daytime #Emmy! @therealdaytime has been one of the most challenging jobs I have ever done. Daytime TV is no joke; 4 am call times, being vulnerable with your opinions so a few can attack you, but many can relate. I do this for you guys. We have a hard working team. Here we go!” she enthusiastically shared on May 5.

Unfortunately, “The Real” ultimately lost out to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and “Live with Kelly and Ryan” hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, respectively.

Several fans applauded Mowry on the nominations.

“I can relate I totally know what you are talking about. Congratulations 🎉 and all the best.”

“I love you ladies! I watch you everyday. Keep up the good work and always keep it REAL! ♥️”

“Blessed you we appreciate your hard work keep on keeping on.”

But the overwhelming majority of more than 11,000 comments applauded Mowry for her new faux locs hairstyle. The look was made possible thanks to Dr. Kari Williams, a celebrity natural hairstylist known for dressing Ava DuVernay’s locs.

“Yasssss I love these on you😍”

“Obsessed with this look on you!!! 💕”

“this hairstyle is soooo beautiful on you! it fits soooooo well!”

“Tam this is so your look!! You are so gorgeous always!”

“@tameramowrytwo omg you actually got the locs 😩❤ omg you’re so beautiful.”

Mowry has been thinking of getting the faux locs for a while. On “The Real” in April, she said that regardless of TSA scanners’ bias against hairstyles typically worn by Black women, she was going to wear the hair she wanted.

“I’m actually thinking about getting faux locs, you guys,” she said. “I’m still gonna do it. I don’t care if I set off that machine. I’ve always wanted to try it!”

Mowry made it happen a couple of weeks later and got an equal amount of praise when she debuted the look on her talk show this week.

“I love it,” she said.
