Months after Magic Johnson’s daughter went through a home invasion, she’s boldly sharing the resulting scars from the harrowing incident.
Elisa Johnson posted a photo to her Instagram page Wednesday wearing a black sports bra and matching baggy pants that exposed her midriff. Across her abdomen were noticeable scars extending above her navel.
“As women we tend to be very hard on ourselves,” the 22-year-old explained on the social media platform April 24. “Months ago, I escaped from a home invasion and in the process I was left with intense scaring on my stomach. Until now I’ve been so afraid to show these scars, and incredibly insecure about the way I look. But I now realize these scars are a part of my journey, and tell the story of who I am. I love my body, and I am proud to be in the place I am today. 😍 #selfhealing.”

Elisa, who is the youngest child of the now-resigned Lakers president, was staying at an AirBnB with pals in the San Fernando Valley in December 2018 when the invasion happened, TMZ reported at the time. Law enforcement sources told the celebrity news website that two men entered the rental on a Sunday morning and threatened 10 people. Some were reportedly held at gunpoint and pushed throughout the home.
Upon hearing the disturbance, Elisa reportedly took off from her bedroom through a sliding glass door at the back of the house, presumably cutting herself then. She then raced down the street to flee from any danger. No one else aside from her is said to have suffered physical injuries.
Meanwhile, the men reportedly stole between $30,000 and $40,000 worth of items, including a Rolex, jewelry, electronics and money. By February 2019, TMZ reported police made an arrest after reviewing surveillance footage from the neighborhood. The apprehended suspect is a 25-year-old man with a criminal past. After his arrest, the man was hit with multiple robbery charges for the home invasion and had been held without bail. The other suspect has not been captured.
