Fans Reminisce on Keyshia Cole’s ‘Era in Music’ After She Reposts Throwback Picture: ‘Those Were the Good Days’

Keyshia Cole caused fans to take a stroll down memory lane after posting from one of her first photo shoots from early in her music career.

The R&B singer became a hit sensation in the early 2000’s after releasing her first album “The Way It Is” in 2005, which instantly went platinum. She became known for her love songs that were predominantly about heartbreak and was often compared to her idol, singer Mary J. Blige.

Although Cole hasn’t released any new music in over a year, she has been quite active on social media, engaging with her fans. Over the weekend she posted an image from one of her very first photo shoots from 2004, which showed her dressed in a cropped two-piece shorts set with leg warmers and heels, posed in front of wall biography written about her life, on Instagram.

The 37-year-old artist hasn’t released any new music since her seventh album, “11: 11 Reset,” in October 2017, despite teasing an eighth album last September.

However, Cole is slated to headline at the St. Maarten Carnival this week
with Ashanti and Ja Rule. All three are set to perform for the April 25 Soulful Company concert during the 50th anniversary St. Maarten Carnival, which is set for April 20 to May 7.

May-Ling Chun, the tourism director of St. Maarten, happily welcomed Cole, Ashanti and Ja Rule to perform in her country.

“We’re so excited to welcome Ashanti, Keyshia Cole, and Ja Rule to St. Maarten,” Chun said in a statement. “We cannot wait to see the energy that they bring to the stage.”
