Prayers and well-wishes are pouring in for Hollywood director John Singleton, who’s been hospitalized after reportedly suffering a stroke.
The sad news was first reported Friday by entertainment blog Love B. Scott.
“His condition is unknown at this time, but we’re sending prayers his way,” the site reported.
News of Singleton’s medical emergency quickly spread across social media, spurring a flood reactions from fellow celebrities and fans who wished him a speedy recovery.

Rapper Snoop Dogg also took to social media to encourage fans to “pray 4 my brother 🙏🏽👊🏿✨💙.”
“John Singleton ‘quit playing!’ LA can’t take another blow like this ,” one fan commented.
“Let’s take a moment and pray for John Singleton who suffered a stroke today!,” another chime in. “Lift him and his family up in prayer praying for strength and Hods healing mercy in Jesus name!!!”
The Oscar-nominated director, best known for classic Black films including “Shaft,” “Baby Boy” and “Poetic Justice,” became the youngest filmmaker to be nominated for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for “Boyz N the Hood” in 1992. He also directed Michael Jackson‘s iconic “Remember the Time” music video.
Singleton’s other credits include “Higher Learning,” “2 Fast 2 Furious,” and “Hustle & Flow,” among several others.
