Tommie Lee Reportedly Denied Admittance to Court’s Mental Health Program, Fans Outraged: ‘This Is Backwards Af!’

Former “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Tommie Lee was not accepted into a court-based mental health program, and folks are pretty upset about it.

It was reported that the television personality’s legal team submitted an application seeking her treatment for a serious unknown mental illness she’d allegedly been diagnosed with around the same time she was faced with felony child abuse charges in January. The program would’ve helped mitigate the possible 54 years she’s currently facing behind bars, and clearly could have aided her mental health.

However, TMZ reported on Wednesday that prosecutors deemed Lee ineligible to enter into court’s mental health program, apparently due to her long arrest record. Legal documents obtained by the news source state that her past criminal history, along with other unidentified factors, “make her an inappropriate candidate for an accountability court.”

Needless to say, fans and supporters of the 34-year-old mother of two were pretty upset to learn this news.

“So Y’all Denying People Wanting/Needing Help? This is backwards af!”

“Maybe she just really needs help. Y’all irky 🙄 that’s unfortunate smh.”

“But she needs help! She’s admitting she needs help! The system is so screwed man! It keeps failing those who need help! 🤦.”

“Wtf deniiiieeeed ? That’s all the reason to allow her to be apart of something to better herself this is a perfect example of the courts wanting to see us stay in the same position and environment we’ve been in.
That’s sad because if it was a white kid they would’ve offered it in a heartbeat 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Others felt no sympathy for Lee.

“I don’t feel bad for her. Why didn’t she get mental help a long time ago? I think she feels like this is it and she’s saying anything she can to get out of it. I would too! You don’t go to your kids school and slam their head into a locker! No matter what!”

“No special treatment bihhh 🤷🏾‍♀️ they’ve let her off time after time. She’s been in rehabilitation places and more. Tommy is going to do what she wants at the end of the day. No matter how much help you offer!!”

In January, the “Truth” rapper was indicted on multiple child abuse charges after allegedly assaulting her daughter at the child’s middle school. She’s facing a total of seven charges.

Despite the negative things many people think about Lee, she told Hot New Hip Hop in a recent interview she’s actually a good person despite how the media may portray her.

“I feel like they think I’m the aggressive Tommie, angry Tommie, the Tommie who’s pissed off…but that’s not me. I’m a whole vibe,” Lee explained. “People always tell me, “You’re so different from how you are portrayed on TV,” and s–t like that. They only just showed that side. I wish people knew I look out for a lot of people and I’m not a bad person to be around.”
