Is she a friend, a mentor, possibly a mother figure?

Most would probably say it has been difficult to figure out the relationship between August Alsina and Jada Pinkett Smith, since they’ve been in each other’s lives for a few years now.

Alsina was a guest on the actress’ show “Red Table Talk” last year and talked about battling addiction. And in 2016 photos surfaced of the singer vacationing with the “A Different World” star and her daughter Willow Smith in Hawaii.

There also have been rumors that the singer and actress have been romantically involved, despite Pinkett Smith being married to Will Smith for 21 years.

But on March 28 Alsina gave people even more reason to talk, because he dropped a cover of Kehlani‘s “Nunya” in which he hinted at an affair with the “Set It Off” actress.

In the clip, Alsina is supposed to be texting with a woman named Koren, which happens to be Pinkett Smith’s middle name.

“I gave you time to make me a priority, put my feelings out there you ignored it / Being real is what you can’t afford,” sings the 26-year-old.

Then, later in the song, Alsina shows a GIF of Pinkett Smith while singing the following lines:

“You got me feeling like it was an act / You’re just an actress putting on a show / ‘Cause you don’t want the world to know / That you lost a man who loved you all along,” he crooned.

Of course, it didn’t take long for folks to comment, and instead of wondering if the singer and actress were romantically involved, some seemed convinced they were.

“Falling in love with a married woman…now you’re in your feelings? Okay…..,” someone wrote under the clip.

“Why is he singing like she’s not another mans whole wife 😂? What did you expect my guy? 🤷🏾‍♂️,” another person asked.

There were also some who believed Pinkett Smith and Alsina planned the video together to purposely drum up controversy so the song would get attention.

“🔥🔥🔥🔥 you & jada can’t fool me y’all made this song together,” someone commented. “She wants you to do well, and dis will have ppl talking, i know u wouldn’t blast her, u too kool for that, and you respect her too much.. 💯💯💯 (nice try thou) 😁😁.”
