Ashanti’s Throwback Pic Shows Just How Much She Hasn’t Aged

R&B singer Ashanti just doesn’t seem to age.

For years, social media clamored over how the artist still looks the same since breaking into the music industry in 2001. She recently posted an apparent teenage throwback picture of herself and her little sister, seemingly from the 1990s, leaving fans shook over her girlish looks.

Ashanti took to Instagram on Tuesday night and gave a birthday shoutout to her little sister Kenashia “Shia” Douglas for her 30th birthday. In the post, she spoke highly of their bond as sisters while also attaching an old image of her and Shia posing for a picture together, apparently at their old home.

“😩😂🤣 Stuntin on em from the very beginning!!!” the “Rock Wit U” singer wrote on April 2. “A sisters bond is like no other… Happy Birthday Bink!!! @liltuneshi 🎂🎉🎁.”

Fans showered Shia with birthday wishes while fawning over how Ashanti seems to look no different from her teenage years.

“That swoop LMAO everybody’s hairstyle love it you haven’t age since then @ashanti💜💜💜… Happy birthday Shia!”

“Omg @ashanti u were never flawed and still look the damn same🔥🔥! Happy bday Shia.”

“Dear Ashanti you been da 🥇 since forever naturally thick 😍💍🏆 n happy birthday lil sis.”

“That’s that 90’s throwback pose right there lol Ashanti still look exactly the same! Happy shi hope you enjoying your special day 🎂.”

The details of Ashanti’s skin regimen is unknown to the public, but the celeb said she’s keen on staying in shape. She told Buzzfeed in 2017 that she eats clean and exercises on a regular to maintain her fit figure.

“For me it’s about eating healthy and taking care of yourself,” the 38-year-old singer said. “I’m embracing who I am naturally, so I go to the gym and work with an awesome trainer, I work with an herbalist, I do detoxes, I juice. I’m heavy with my kales and ginger, it’s very important to be aware of what you’re putting in your body.”

The 2003 Grammy-winning R&B singer is also in the middle of making a grand return to music. She told Page Six in January that she’s been exploring a variety of musical sounds while recording new music.

“It’s really important not to put all of your eggs in one basket or to be one-dimensional. Now more than ever, you have to keep the attention span and you have to keep a lot of things going on.”
