Snoop Dogg lashed out at a police officer who pulled him over in New York on Sunday.
At the time, Snoop was in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van and didn’t like that the officer seemed to be an immigrant.
“Why is it always some motherf—ker that ain’t from America that’s some sort of kind of a police officer or pull you over kind of n—a?” he asked. “N—a, your registration and paperwork ain’t even together, motherf—ker. The Slushie machine is broken, motherf–cker. Why you pulling us over and sh–? You got your citizenship?”
Snoop then said America is messed up these days and advised everyone to keep their “lawyers and alibis” nearby.
Soon after, many said the rapper was being racist and xenophobic, but not everyone saw it that way. There were also some who said Snoop sounds like a Donald Trump supporter, since Trump hasn’t really rolled out the red carpet for foreigners.
“Racial Tirade… Not racist. 🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣,” someone wrote about Snoop on YouTube.
“not really a racial tirade. it’s more like a xenophobic tirade,” another person responded.
But there were some who empathized with the rapper’s frustration and didn’t criticize his rant.
“Did you forget you’re a black man in USA? ANY person of color WILL get pulled over for no reason,” someone wrote.
Snoop’s clip received a little over 300,000 views in a couple of days, and people are still debating on whether he’s xenophobic or not.
