The Cast of ‘In Living Color’ Reuniting For the First Time in Seven Years: ‘Can’t Wait’

The band is getting back together again.

It has recently been announced that the cast of the ’90s Fox show “In Living Color” will reunite at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival in New York as part of the festival’s television special events.

Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans, David Alan Grier, Rosie Perez, Tommy Davidson and co-creator Keenen Ivory Wayans are scheduled to attend, where a discussion on the show’s cultural impact will take place. The pilot episode will be played before the discussion.

“Guess who’s getting together 4 @Tribeca FF 2019?” Davidson tweeted Monday next to a throwback photo of the cast. “That’s right #InLivingColor gettin’ 2gether 4 reunion.”

The last time cast members reunited was in 2012 when they accepted TV Land’s “Groundbreaking Award,” but co-creator Damon Wayans was absent and there’s nothing that confirms he’ll be at the festival.

Shawn Wayans also sent a tweet on Monday about the reunion and wrote he “Can’t wait” to get together with everyone, and based on the comments others are excited too.

“Ahhhh sh–! Here we go! Bout time!,” one person wrote.

“SW1 returns,” wrote someone else, referring to Shawn Wayans’ DJ name on the show.

“In Living Color” was credited for breaking ground in the sketch comedy space since it featured a mostly Black cast.

It also helped launch the careers of Jennifer Lopez, who was a dancer and part of the Fly Girls, Perez, who choreographed, the Wayans brothers, their sister Kim Wayans and Jim Carrey, who, like Lopez, became a huge movie star. The show ran for five seasons from April 1990 to May 1994.

The Tribeca Film Festival will be from April 24 to May 25 and the “In Living Color” reunion and panel discussion will be on April 27.
