Diana Ross Sets a Drunken Guy Straight After Being Harassed Onstage

On Monday, March 11, Diana Ross was one of the surprise performers at the opening of Ian Schrager’s Times Square Edition hotel in New York. He’s the same person who started the famed club Studio 54 in the 1970s, also in New York.

While Ross performed her hit “Upside Down,” a man began harassing her after he made his way to the front of the stage.

At one point, the guy, who appeared to be drunk, poked Ross’ leg with his finger, and she slapped his hand away. He then gave Ross the middle finger and reportedly yanked her tulle boa, all while the 74-year-old kept on singing and didn’t miss a beat.

Then, after some might say they took their sweet time, security arrived and escorted the guy out of there. It also doesn’t seem like others at the show tried to help the legendary singer, because they just looked on.

But once the intoxicated man was gone, the rest of the show seemingly went on without a hitch, and others who took the stage included disco legend Nile Rodgers and his band Chic.

Next for Ross, according to Ticketmaster, will be a March 26 show at the Palladium in Hollywood, Calif., for her “Diana Ross & Friends 75th Birthday Celebration.”

Then on June 5, she’ll be playing at the Encore Theater at Wynn in Las Vegas, where she’ll play until June 15. After that, Ross will head back East to perform at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on June 22.

Hopefully, security will keep their eyes out for drunken fans at those shows and react much faster than the people guarding the hotel performance.
