Reality star Nene Leakes is hitting back at fans offering their two cents on the drama-filled “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion taping earlier this week.
Leakes, an original member of the hit reality show which first aired in 2008, sounded off on Instagram where fans suspected she may have been the target of much of the hate during Thursday’s “emotionally charged” taping. The Broadway actress also raised suspicions after unfollowing all but two of her RHOA co-stars on social media.
Now, fans are begging for answers.
“As usual, Nene must have been everyone’s target at the reunion,” one fan commented under a post on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fan page.
Leakes responded: “@larivlari I’m the #HBIC, so naturally weak girls fighting. I would naturally be a target.”
Another fan argued the opposite, however, and slammed the OG housewife as a “narcissist” who folks can’t stand to be around because “you have to walk on eggshells” just to be her friend.
“@eb_joi WELL keep watching!” Leakes hit back. “I mean don’t blink.”
Reunion host and producer Andy Cohen hinted at a possible divide between the ladies on the show, should certain cast members return for season 12. Leakes in particular shocked fans this week when she unfollowed Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams, Kandi Burruss, Eva Marcille, and Tanya Sam. That only left co-stars Marlo Hampton and Shamari Devoe as the remaining women that Leakes follows on Instagram.
“The whole table was reset for next season,” Cohen wrote in a tweet.
The reality star’s clap back drew mixed reactions from fans eager to see how the drama will play out at upcoming three-part reunion, which is set to air later this year.
“I’m just going to say this …,” one fan began. “It’s extremely difficult and exhausting to be friends with someone who feels they can say whatever tf they want to you, never apologize and never owns up to their shit. Friendships are two-way streets.”
One woman said Leakes needed a “reality check,” later adding: “She’s delusional [and] she always has to be the victim, then shouts I AM NOT A VICTIM BITCH.”
Another fan urged critics to take it easy on the reality star, who’s “going though a lot” after her husband’s cancer diagnosis last year. “Giver her a break,” they said. “Everyone loves attacking her. [It] gets boring.”
