Fans are wondering if whether or not it’s trouble in paradise for R&B singer Monica Brown and her husband, former NBA player Shannon Brown, after the couple’s latest posts.
Rumors have been flying for years that Monica and Shannon were divorcing, but they’ve both shut down the allegations with sweet photos of each other on their social media pages. But of late, it appears the couple have been posting messages toward each other alluding to their marriage being on the rocks, and fans have taken notice.
Last week, the “I Should Have Known Better” singer shared a few photos of her girls night out with friends Tiny Harris and Toya Wright, and fans first noticed she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring. In a more recent fashion post she shared on March 3, the singer was still seen without it on her ring finger. To add more cause for suspicion, she also uploaded a post expressing how grateful she was for her children and supporters, not mentioning her husband at all.
“Treasure people while they are present to feel your gratitude 🖤,” Monica wrote on Sunday. “To my children you are the reason. The center of my joy , I love you ! To my supporters you are all irreplaceable!!”
Fans who speculated that she and Shannon separated told her to “divorce” him.
“Divorce his azz Mo, because he’ll never find another you! #Periodt,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “Damn her ring is not on I know it hurts, I just want her to be happy.”
Shannon also shared a cryptic message on his Instagram account, ostensibly directed at his wife.
The NBA veteran posted on March 2, “Loyalty and love are soulmates. Can’t have one without the other huh…lol…it’s funny how we can look at the same thing and see it so different.”
“Just sign the papers already,” one fan commented underneath Shannon’s post.
Around April 2016, there were several reports alleging Shannon had cheated on his wife with an Instagram model and fathered a child outside their marriage. The pair shot down the hearsay and claimed their family was being stalked.
Fans also speculated late last year that the couple’s marriage was on the rocks when they learned Shannon wasn’t going to be seen much on “T.I. & Tiny: Family & Friends Hustle,” which Monica co-stars on.
