“Short Hair Desires Fulfilled,” Ciara captioned a selfie posted on her Instagram page Feb. 24. The fringed half-up-half-down bob was cut by César DeLeön Ramirêz and Ciara rocked the look with a bold red lip in a one-sleeved, high slit gown by Peter Dundas from his Dundas collection.
Several fans ate up the new look.
“I love when you wear short hair. Shows up your lovely bone structure @ciara.”
“TOTALLY love this hair & look😍😍😍😍😍”
“LOVE THE SHORT HAIR!!!
But others shunned it.
“Although u are a chameleon when it comes to ur look, this hairstyle ain’t for u. But no matter how we feel, we love u no matter what CiCi… && u look beautiful. Enjoy ur night — XOXO 😘”
“Noooo , nooooo.”
“Sis i love you more than words can even express like i still listen to u n bow wow song but ion know where u was going with this look it’s most definitely the hair 🤦🏾♀️”
The last comment led a fan of Ciara and her ever-evolving style to stick up for the singer.
“@8732keysha Anyone that wears tarantulas on their eyes should never comment on how someone looks.”
However, the star likely is not worried about what any hater has to say about her haircut. While speaking to Cosmopolitan for its November 2018 issue about dealing with those who have something negative to say about her romance with husband Russell Wilson, she cast all smack talk aside.
“When someone comes for you and you didn’t send for them, you keep your eye on the prize,” she said. “I know what my mission is. I know what I’m hoping for and working hard for every day. And that’s my focus. I’m not going to let people steal my joy. I move on. New day, new opportunity, new energy, let’s go.”
The singer likely has that same attitude with her current hairstyle trolls, who simply have no clue that she’s rocked a cropped ‘do before. Back in 2013, Ciara traded her signature long blond tresses for a cropped, deep-parted bob. She’s gone short numerous times over the years and even switched up her loose hair and styled into faux locs, dookie braids and a snatched ponytail.
