Ashanti and Ja Rule Spring a Surprise With a Joint Tour Starting Immediately

R&B singer Ashanti is teaming up with her former “Murder Inc.” labelmate Ja Rule for a live music tour.

Ashanti and Rule have been slaying the music game together since the early 2000s, and now they will be performing together at 11 different cities, two of them outside the United States. The “Rock Wit You” singer announced the unexpected news on her Instagram on Wednesday night.

“Let’s goooo!!!!!! Kicking off Valentines Day!!!❤️,” she wrote in her caption, sharing a flyer of their “Ashanti & Ja Rule” tour.

Longtime fans of the music duo seemed thrilled to have two of their favorites reunite and go on tour together.

“Holy f–k!!!” a fan exclaimed. “S–t’s about to be fyre🔥!”

A second fan added, “Only Loyalty I’ve been seeing on going ❤! Can’t beat a bit of Ja and Ashanti cuz the staple of my youth these two!”

“See you on Friday 🙌🏽🙌🏽,” another commented. “Please bring this energy 😍.”

“This show is about to be too Lit! Definitely buying my ticket #seattlehereicome,” another added.

Ashanti and Ja Rule are known for their classic duets, with songs like “Always on Time,” “Mesmerize,” “What’s Luv,” “The Inc,” and a few others. The two will kick the tour off on Valentine’s Day at the Novo, a popular music venue in downtown Los Angeles.

The cities for their other tour dates include: San Diego, Pomona, San Francisco, and Indio, all in California; Seattle; Lexington, Kentucky; West Haven, Connecticut; Atlanta; Edmonton, Canada; and Lommel, Belgium.

In June 2018, Ashanti talked about a possible collaboration album with Ja Rule. She told ET Online, “Listen, me and Rule, it’s so funny because we’ve been talking about that for so long, but I think now he’s like, ‘OK, now it’s time to do it.'”

She added, “So we’re going to carve out the time and make it happen.”

The last album the dynamic duo collaborated on was “The Hamilton Mixtape” in November 2016.
