Report: Wendy Williams Scared She’ll Be Replaced As Her Staff Wants Nick Cannon to Take Over: ‘Nick Can Save the Show’

The staff of “The Wendy Williams Show” wants Nick Cannon to be the permanent host and their new boss, according to a recent report.

Things have certainly been helter-skelter at the long running talk show due to Wendy not filming an episode since late December. It’s been said her absence is because of health issues as well as marital problems.

As reported, her husband Kevin Hunter has been accused of having a mistress, which the couple has denied.

Plus, it’s been said the staff is tired of being kept in the dark about when or if Williams will return since there’s been several celebrity guests hosts who’ve filled in. Cannon took the reigns on Monday (Feb.4) and said he spoke with Williams as well as her husband and her family is doing fine.

Not only is the staff upset their boss updated Cannon and not them, they believe Cannon would be a far better host.

“We all want Nick to replace Wendy,” said one of the staff people, according to the Daily Mail. He has been an absolute dream. Everyone on the team adores him, and he’s such a professional. Debmar [-Mercury] needs to sign him up and make him the new host.”

“Nick can save the show,” added the insider. “Women love him, Wendy’s fans love him and he’s really low maintenance. He also has ideas about how he can make each segment better and elevate what we’re doing. He’s not checked out like Wendy.”

And while it’s possible that Williams is appreciative of Cannon and the rest of the celebrities for filling in, a source of the New York Post said she’s worried of being replaced.

“She’s super scared and anxious,” the insider claimed. “Watching Nick Cannon being a huge hit with her audience is tough for her. They’re already starting to mess with the format. It’s like watching them screw around with her baby.”

The only siting of Williams since her absence was last week when she was spotted in Fort Lauderdale coming out of a CVS store. Afterwards some of her staff thought she was faking the illness, which is another reason they want Cannon to replace her.

“He’s also open about his life,” the employee stated. “He talks about everything. I suppose you can be when you’re not in denial about your life like Wendy.”
