DMX wants to be on “Iyanla: Fix My Life” again.
The troubled rapper was first on the show in 2013, and things didn’t go well at all. Because during that episode, Iyanla Vanzant and DMX’s son Xavier confronted him about using drugs, which he resented.
In fact, the whole interview was pretty contentious, and when the life coach tried to mediate a disagreement between DMX and his son, the rapper blew up.
“Lady, shut the f–k up. I’m not even going to have this debate,” said the rapper before he stormed off.
After the interview, DMX said the show made misrepresentations to him. According to an insider, Vanzant was supposed to ask him about his addiction to women, not his alleged drug use. So X wanted OWN to delete the entire interview.
“Iyanla set the whole thing up to make me look bad for ratings,” he once said. “The lady is toxic. My last words to her were that she can suck my d–k, and she still can.”
Right now, DMX is in prison on a tax evasion charge and will be out on Jan. 27. Vanzant said he reached out to her for a second chance to be on the show, which she’s open to.
“Earl, that’s what I call him, wrote us again, Vanzant told Page Six, referring to X by his birth name. “The last thing I said to [him] was ‘You will never have the opportunity to speak to me again.'”
“But that was before I realized that I failed him,” she added. “I failed him by not following the Holy Spirit to do what I’m supposed to do. I did what [the show’s] production [team] wanted. I had a very clear path for every single guest.”
The new season of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” airs Saturday Jan. 19.
