Kandi Burruss has revealed she’s reached a milestone in her quest to expand her family.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star shared on the Sunday, Nov. 4 premiere that she and husband Todd Tucker still have two embryos left from undergoing in vitro fertilization to conceive their 2-year-old son Ace Wells Tucker.
And now, Burruss has revealed she’s pursuing surrogacy to have a baby girl.
“We decided we want to get a surrogate,” Burruss told Us Weekly in an interview posted Monday, Nov. 5. “I guess we’re not taping anymore so I guess I can tell you that we did find someone, and right now we are in the process — you know it hasn’t been done — but we’re in the process.”
While that news is exciting for Burruss, it won’t delight her 16-year-old Riley Burruss.
“We’re not supposed to leave any teammates behind,” Tucker told his stepdaughter as she and her stepsister, Kaela Tucker, and brother ate a meal with their parents on the RHOA premiere.
And when Burruss told her teenage daughter about the female embryos awaiting in the freezer, Riley snapped back, “I feel fine telling you to leave them in the freezer.”
“You work too much … I know I get sad when you just come back for like, a day or two, and then leave back out,” she told them.
But Burruss isn’t paying too much attention to what her teen thinks.
“Riley’s like ‘you don’t need to have any more kids’ but she said that when we had Ace and now she’s in love with Ace,” the Grammy winner told Us Weekly. “And now she’s in love with Ace.”
