Chris Rock pointed out recently that the notion that good men are hard to find simply isn’t true. But what he likely didn’t expect was to get blasted for his past indiscretions.
“Good men do exist. We just ugly,” Rock re-posted from an Instagram Story onto his own IG page Monday, Oct. 15.
“And some of us are broke,” he added in the caption.
Fans began by sharing their own thoughts on the message.
“FACTS!!! love is better than beauty RT!!!”
“First of all, False.💁🏽♀️… Second of all, good women know that a looks/money is NOT what makes a good man, a good Man— (ye voice) but imma let y’all finish hooking up with millennial mindset folks & considering that relationship-building. 😏💅🏽”
“Not all good guys are ugly though! Most of them are aholes.”
“Yeah & soon as a fine woman grab em up and make em look good, they start being little s—z too😂🤣😂”
But it wasn’t long before things took a turn and folks called out Rock’s cheating ways. The comedian admitted to doing so during his Netflix special, “Chris Rock: Tamborine,” which aired earlier this year. In it, he said that he stepped out on his wife Malaak Compton three times while on tour. They divorced in 2016.
“It’s my fault because I’m a f—ing a–hole. I didn’t listen,” he said. “I wasn’t kind. I had an attitude. I thought, ‘I pay for everything, I can do what I want.’ That s—t don’t f—ing work. I just thought I was the s–t. I didn’t play the tambourine.”
“Good men?! You cheated on your wife! 😂”
“Didn’t you cheat on your wife?!”
“Awwwww…..I don’t think you’re ugly and pretty sure you’re not broke, but didn’t you cheat 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ so does that mean that (if ur ugly) there are no good dudes??? Just saying 😜🤷🏾♀️😜🤷🏾♀️😜”
“Didn’t you cheat on your wife, maybe call yourself goodish 😁”
“but didn’t you cheat 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️”
“Is this the one that cheated?”
“But you cheated three times. So you’re not good. Just ugly and broke.”
