Kevin Hart Getting to the Money With His New Deal With Nickelodeon

Hart is definitely on a roll, as he recently signed a first-look deal with children’s network Nickelodeon.

Multiple outlets reported Hart signed a contract with Nickelodeon to develop live-action, scripted children’s content through his HartBeat Productions. Hart’s HartBeat Productions is a company he created to focus on developing content for TV, film and digital formats for a global audience.

Although Hart’s stand-up content, as well as a few of his films, are known for their adult content, he still seems to resonate with children. He has won several Kids’ Choice Awards, including winning favorite funny star in 2014 and, in 2017 for the favorite villain in “The Secret Life of Pets.”

Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins said in a statement, “I’m excited to inherit this terrific content deal with Kevin Hart just as I step into my new role at Nickelodeon.” He continued, “Kevin is an incredible talent whose appeal cuts across practically every age group and every member of the family. He knows how to create unforgettable characters, and I can’t wait for him and HartBeat Productions to focus their creativity on making great new content with us.”

Hart also described his excitement about his new partnership with the network. “For me, Nick has always represented everything fun about being a kid, and it’s still at the forefront today of kids’ and family entertainment,” Hart said in a press release. “I’ve been slimed at Kids’ Choice, won a lot of Orange Blimps, and my kids are my very own built-in focus group, so I’m ready to dive in and make some next-level shows with Brian and everyone at Nickelodeon.”

Hart also closed a first-look deal with Universal Studios to produce feature films.
