Viral Video Shows Woman Confront AT&T Worker Accused of Swiping Money from Her Cash App

An AT&T worker has reportedly been fired after trying to pull a fast one by swiping $50 from a customer’s Cash App.

Viral video shared by “The Shade Room” shows an unnamed woman confronting the worker after the money mysteriously vanished from her account. The woman was having Internet installed at her house when the AT&T employee asked if he could use her cell phone to see if the Wi-Fi was up and running.

In the process, however, the worker reportedly helped himself to her money via the cash- sharing app, transferring the funds to himself using a fake name, according to Blavity.

The thief almost got away with it, but not before the woman rushed outside to give him a piece of her mind. She recorded their confrontation and later posted it online for the whole world to see.

“I’m on my Cash App now, and it’s saying at 10:21 a.m. you took the $50,” the lady says in the video. “I just want to know what would make you want to do that? You’ve probably done this to so many people. Why me?”

The unnamed worker insisted he’s “never stolen in his life” and claimed the transfer was just a mistake. He later quickly changed his tune, however, delivering a sob story about how he’s a single father of two whose fiancée recently passed away.

“I’ll do anything and everything in my power to make this right,” he tells the understandably angry customer. “I wasn’t thinking. I should’ve owned up to it.”

The woman, Instagram user @CandyCoatedGear, said the incident left her livid. She ended up telling the worker he needed to make things right with her fiancé, who was at the bank when the transfer went through.

“I’M SO HOTTTT, I’M SHAKING!!” she wrote. “THE GAGGGGGG IS, I CALLED [the employee] (cause he called from his phone to say he’s in route) AND HE PLAYING CRAZY!!!! NOWWW, HE’S SAYING IT COULD OF BEEN A MISTAKE SO HE ON HIS WAY TO BRING ME CASH 🤔🤔🤔🤔  FREAKING FRAUDDDD!!!!”

The “mistake” ultimately cost the worker his job. According to the video, he’d been working for AT&T for the past five years.
