Fans Sound Off After Duane Martin Requests Spousal Support from Tisha Campbell Amid Divorce

Actor Duane Martin is seeking spousal support from his estranged wife Tisha Campbell after 21 years of marriage. The couple announced their divorce in February and according to The Blast, Martin recently filed court documents declaring that he be rewarded support following their departure.

The “House Party” actress claimed her soon-to-be ex-husband was stashing money away from her. Martin said the accusations were “patently false.”

The couple married in 1996 and share joint custody of their children Ezekiel, 8, and Xen, 16.

Fans dragged Martin for seeking spousal support from his estranged Campbell.

One person wrote, “I don’t understand how a guy can go to court to ask for spousal support. Where is the pride?”

An Instagram user said, “Tell him to use the money he was stashing#manup.”

“There’s something so cringe about a man demanding money from a woman… like ew bum,” another added.

People were shocked to hear the Hollywood duo call it quits after so many years of marriage. A source told People Magazine that there were many factors that contributed to their divorce.

“I know that it’s been coming. It’s not anything that’s new,” the source said. “It’s been getting harder and harder for them for the last two years. But it just got to the breaking point recently. It’s one of those things where they’ve been talking about it and fighting it out and trying to come to a conscious uncoupling.”

Martin and Campbell allegedly kept $50,000 from their trustee during their file for bankruptcy. The pair told E News in 2016, “We got involved with some loans before the crash, couldn’t agree to a settlement with the banks, so we filed to reorganize.”

The source couldn’t pinpoint the final straw in the couple’s marriage but said that “with their kid and schedules and money issues, it all played into it… They’ve been through a lot of different stress tests. Sometimes couples just fall out of love.” Campbell also motioned for spousal support in the original divorce complaint.
