Le’Andria Johnson Goes on Detox Following Expletive-Laden Rant Mocking the Gospel Industry

Le’Andria Johnson is getting her body into gear and doing a fit challenge with colleagues nearly two months after her expletive-laden rant against the gospel and Christian community.

The gospel singer on Saturday, July 21 posted a clip from “Love and Hip Hop Miami” star Shay Johnson, aka @shayjfit touting a 30-day challenge cutting out all carbs. The singer, however, jumped in and said ‘and Alcohol’ while pointing to herself.

“@shayjfit #30DayChallenge no bread pasta soda fried foods liquor sugar salt cheese eggs and NO MEAT!” read the IG post caption. “We will be posting twice a week on our progress please follow our results @iamshayjohnson @leandriaj @maryrieves #WomenEmpoweringWomen.”

Le’Andria, who along with the VH1 reality show star will be joined in the challenge by Minister Mary Reeves and Pastor Tim & The Fellas manager Diane Moss, will especially focus on nixing her alcohol consumption, as she pointed out in the video.

Fans had mixed reactions to the “Sunday’s Best” winner’s fitness and health journey.

“You can do it boo!!!! Mind over matter. The first week will be the hardest @leandriaj.”

“HALLELUJAH..I’m Proud of you Leandria. God is with you. Love you Sis.”

“Liquor?!?? Really WOW! I know times have changed but God hasn’t! This is nonsense and embarrassing to the Body of Christ! I use to think highly of Le’Andria but with the Disrespect to Bishop Winans, The Body and Now to know You have to do a 30day Challenge that Includes Liquor, Shameful and Heartbreaking. Oh I’m NOT Judging👋🏾👋🏾 .”

In June, the singer — who has had other public issues with the bottle — went on a tirade aimed at how the gospel industry is run.

“I’m tired of being Le’Andria Johnson that y’all know of,” she said on Facebook Live at the time. “And Ima tell you like this: I could be on a Kirk Franklin level. I could be on a Mary Mary level. Yolanda Adams, Marvin Sapp, Fred Hammon. All the gospel greats … All the R&B. Beyoncé, Brandy. … If I played the game, I could really be on that level. I could, but I’m not ’bout playin’ no games, though.”

The diatribe ultimately cost the star a spot at the Essence Festival and she later apologized for her post.
