Rapper Cardi B‘s husband Offset was recently arrested on felony gun charges but Cardi believes her hubby is innocent and was racially profiled. He immediately paid his $17,000 bail but may face prison time from the charges.
The one-third member of Migos rap group was arrested last week on two felony gun charges and a misdemeanor in Georgia. Cops say they pulled the rapper over for crossing a double yellow line on the road. According to TMZ, Offset’s attorney Drew Findling and Cardi are convinced that was just an excuse used to pull him over.
Sources tell TMZ that Cardi plans to stay by her husband’s side including if his charges send him to prison. Findling told TMZ after the arrest that Offset was “was pulled over for doing nothing more than being a rich, successful black rapper.” The attorney represents other big names in the entertainment industry including Gucci Mane and Katt Williams.
The two guns that were found in Offset’s vehicle belonged to another friend in the car who’s a licensed gun owner. Findling added to the publication that the weapons were present for protection since Offset often carries on his person large amounts of cash and the expensive jewelry he wears.
