“Cooking in the kitchen #lifeoftheleakes,” Leakes captioned the photo, which comes weeks after she revealed she is on a pescatarian diet while and Gregg is on a vegan diet. The star also shared she’s partnering with livetolivelife to get a website launched to share the Leakes’ lifestyle updates as Gregg continues to recover from cancer.
“Love blonde hair on NeNe but her skin is remarkably lighter than when she first appeared on TV. What is it about brown women becoming famous that makes them bleach their skin??? Her, Tamar [Braxton], and others seem to be okay with being Black as long as they are light enough…has America convinced us dark Black women cannot be successful???”
Leakes waisted no time hitting back by writing, “@darraghgrier you need help! I’ll be praying for you because your eyes ain’t working fo ya.”
And fans also raced to Leakes’ defense.
“@darraghgrier filter, edit, lightning, makeup. Are you dumb?! She literally looks the same.”
“@darraghgrier the lighter the hair color the lighter the skin looks.”
“❤❤😍😍beautiful couple Greg n NeNe skin has always been beautiful she don’t look lighter to me just glowing from beautiful blessings maybe ur TV settings need checking.”
“@darraghgrier lol it’s called makeup and it looks amazing.”
This isn’t the first time Leakes has been ridiculed for her changing appearance. The star, who has been open about her several nose jobs, slammed accusations that she was bleaching her skin in November 2016.
When folks speculated that her complexion was chemically lightened, she hit back by simply posting a side-by-side of two photos. No words were needed for her to clear up the issue, as she demonstrated that a gossip blog had lightened her original photo.
