Months after Shereé Whitfield blasted NeNe Leakes and alleged she committed credit card fraud, Leakes threw shade Witfield’s way by taking a dig at her clothing line, She By Shereeé.

“SWAGGALICIOUS opening soon on the beach can you guess where this location is? #UnderContruction #lifeofNeNe #JoggersComingSoon Godsplan,” Leakes posted on Instagram while promoting the opening of her new small boutique, Swaggalicious.

She later edited the post to say, “Quietly working on my newest brand of small Boutiques called SWAGGALICIOUS opening soon on the Beach💦 can you guess where this location is?#underconstruction #lifeofnene #joggerscomingsoon #whentheywantyoutofail BUT 👉🏾 #Godsplan.”

But the new message still included the offending hashtag, #JoggersComingSoon. For the uninitiated, Whitfield became an internet joke in April when she gave an update on her clothing line that took a decade to officially launch.

“Joggers, it’s more lifestyle. I said I’m doing joggers. Lifestyle, athletic, yeah, lifestyle,” she said on the season 10 RHOA reunion. “Probably more September, that is spring, summer. September show — spring, summer.”

Edited captions or not, Whitfield caught wind of her former friend’s shade and hit back on Twitter.

Just under a couple hours later, Leakes responded by gloating about getting her new boutiques open while balancing taking care of her husband, Greg, and earning some coins.

Leakes and Whitfield have been going at it since the last season of RHOA, when Leakes called out her former pal for dating convicted felon Tyrone Gilliams.

In March, Leakes took joy in learning that Gilliams’ early prison release was denied and the next month, Whitfield had had enough of her and lashed out in a lengthy IG post.

“God don’t like ugly!!” Whitfield fired off. “And its so obvious the envy, hate and jealousy u have.. .u ‘claim’ ur mad bcuz 1. U inserted urself in my personal life with your comments/opinions 2. bcuz I didn’t tell you had multiple bugs in ur house??? #girlbye #callOrkin #Twitterfingers #cyberbully u saw me for months but said none about this…even when I confronted u multiple times! So no, WRONG GIRL and WRONG ANALOGY! #BitterB—-.”

In response to the latest back-and-forth, fans began taking sides.

Independent journalism still matters.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
