Pusha T Issues Drake Diss Track, Wants Answers on Alleged Love Child and Blackface Photo

Pusha T and Drake’s beef is heating up.

After Drake dropped “Duppy Freestyle” in response to Pusha T’s “Infrared” over the weekend, the GOOD Music executive released his own diss to Drake, which is a take on Jay-Z’s “The Story of O.J.

“The Story of Adidon,” which features a cover photo of Drake in blackface, references the reported name of Drakes alleged love child, a boy named Adonis. It includes lyrics that allege there was truth to the rumor Drake impregnated former adult film actress Sophie Brussaux last year.

“Since you name dropped my fiancée, let ’em know who you chose as your Beyoncé/SophieKnowsBetter as your baby mother/Cleaned her up for IG but the stench is on her/A baby’s involved, it’s deeper than rap/We talkin’ character, let me keep with the facts/You are hiding a child, let that boy come home/Deadbeat muthafucka, playing border patrol,” Pusha raps on the track that debuted on Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 program Tuesday, May 29.

On another verse, Pusha alleges Drakes Adidas line ‘Adidon’ is named after his son. “Adonis is your son/And he deserves more than an Adidas press run, that’s real/Love that baby, respect that girl/Forget she’s a pornstar, let her be your world!”

In reference to the cover art, Pusha commanded folks to “stop referring to this picture as ‘artwork’ and tweeted a link to the website of photographer David Leyes, who reportedly snapped the shot in 2008. Leyes contended before privatizing his Instagram account that the art direction was all Drake’s idea.

“Ask Drake,” he said. I captured his idea.”

A glimpse of the original photos reveals a logo — reading “Jim Crow Couture”  — on the apparel. That’s part of the Toronto-based brand, Too Black Guys, which the Canadian rapper was modeling. The company’s website says it aims “to represent the Black experience in an unapologetic way.”

Yet while calling into “The Breakfast Club” Wednesday morning, Pusha wanted answers about why Drake did a blackface photo shoot to begin with.

“Now you get the mimicking of the Black culture — blackface,” he says. “I’m not ready to excuse that.”

Meanwhile, Twitter is buzzing over the diss track.

“Not even listening to these beef songs. Drake > Pusha T.”

“Yesterday night should be in the history books for Virginia. @PUSHA_T just digged [sic] Drake’s grave.”

Comedian Robin Thede tweeted, “Pusha T didn’t mean to go so hard on Drake, he was just on Ambien.”
