A Pennsylvania man has been convicted of bullying a Black family with racial slurs and gestures in Bethlehem Township and the 45-year-old will be serving prison time.
The Northhampton County jury found Robert Kujawa of Easton guilty of ethnic intimidation, harassment and stalking. The felon is looking at 2-4 years in prison. He was also convicted twice before in 2014 and 2015 for menacing the same family according to The Morning Call.
Antonio and Biafra Baker lived in fear after Kujawa would constantly call them and their children “niggers” and other racial epithets. The family said their neighbor would expose his genitals to them, drill holes in their fence, shoot a pellet gun at their outdoor lights and more. The Bakers even claimed to have found broken glass outside of their home or an unexplained drained pool. He would go as far as posting confederate flags in front of his home for the Bakers to see according to police.
Judge Jennifer Sletvold who sentenced the racist convict stated, “Over the course of many years, Mr. Kujawa robbed this family of their peace.”
Kujawa reportedly apologized to the family in the courtroom and claimed he’s losing his home to foreclosure and plans on movie away from the Bakers after his daughter graduates high school.
The convict said, “I never intended for it go to this extent… I’m really remorseful. I’m really sorry that it got to this point.”
Assistant District Attorney Abraham Kassis praised the Bakers for their self-control and restraint for enduring racial torture over the course of several years. He said the family made the right decision to inform authorities instead of taking matters into their own hands.
“We just wanted to raise our children,” said Biafra. “We didn’t ask for any of this.”
Her husband Antonio added outside the courtroom, “It’s been hell…It has been rough for me and my family to endure this through no fault of our own.”
