The former neighborhood watch captain, George Zimmerman is $2.5 million in debt and is pleading for an attorney to defend him from charges alleging he stalked a private investigator working on a Trayvon Martin documentary, produced by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.

Zimmerman claimed he’s broke and currently unemployed and is in need of a public defender according to the Blast. According to court documents, he admitted to having zero money in his bank account and zero assets.

The 34-year-old was found not guilty for the 2013 murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida. He has since racked up domestic violence and assault charges.

Zimmerman has tried to make money off of Martin’s death by reportedly auctioning off the gun that killed the young man and attempted to participate in a celebrity boxing matched that was called off.

The Florida resident has been accused of “willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly” cyber-stalking and harassing private investigator Dennis Albert Warren in December in 2017. Zimmerman is scheduled to appear in court on May 30.
