Traci Braxton got kicked off her sister Toni Braxton’s tour in March and it only took her a few weeks to bounce back.
The star said in a TMZ video Monday, April 23 that she “was so excited but I was so bummed out” about being booted from opening on Toni’s tour with sister Tamar. While Tamar remained on board, Traci got the save of a lifetime when an unnamed network offered to support her on a solo tour.
“I’m excited about that,” she says. “I’ve been waiting for so long to show everybody. … I’m so excited that I’m going to be on tour by myself and I have that chance to show to the world who Traci Renee Braxton is.”
She said she didn’t tell her sisters about the opportunity for the tour, which kicks off in June, until posting the video. Traci also discussed life as a reality star.
“Our show is not scripted, stop saying our show is scripted because it’s not,” she says. “How it happens on ‘Braxton Family Values’ is what really happens on ‘Braxton Family Values.’ We’re not just any castmates that y’all put together.”
And part of what was documented on the series was the Braxton sisters dissing Tamar Braxton’s estranged husband Vince Herbert, who Tamar had accused of cheating on her and abusing her.
Family sources alleged to TMZ in March that Tamar was behind Traci’s axing because of the Vince smack talk. In addition, Tamar reportedly believed the show had been edited to vilify her soon-to-be-ex-husband.
“We’re sisters. We’re sisters first and that’s what we’re going to be,” Traci continued. “So when that happened, I was like, ‘You know what? God has something better for me.”
Meanwhile, Traci had a couple of supporters on YouTube.
“Good for you Traci,” someone said.
“GO TRACIII!! WE LOVE U,” another commented.
But Twitter was less supportive.
“😂 girl stop. Who buying tickets to Traci Braxton?” someone tweeted.
“County fair season must be starting up…” another said.
