WNBA star Candace Parker is shelling out major dough in alimony for her NBA star husband.
The two-time WNBA MVP agreed to pay husband of 10 years Shelden Williams a lump sum of $400,000 to avoid making continuous spousal support payments, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
The spouses also split earnings from their Spanish estate in Encino, Calif., which sold for $3.75 million in March. And Parker and her 2006 no. 5 overall NBA Daft pick husband set up a joint custody agreement for their 8-year-old daughter. No child support will be paid by either mom or dad. Instead, the parents will equally finance her education and divide any significant costs for her care.
Parker’s $400,000 payment comes as a major flip in the spouses’ income. When he played in the NBA for six years, Wiliams reportedly earned $12 million. Meanwhile, Parker’s net worth today is reported to be $2 million.
As such, several Twitter users applauded the former pro baller for his payday.
“Get your money brooooooo,” one person tweeted.
“He secured the bag,” someone else said.
