The hit drama series, “Scandal” starring Kerry Washington is coming to an end after 7 successful seasons. Washington expressed how her character Olivia Pope has inspired her to have children.
The “Scandal” star said that her character had an effect on her personal life she told Entertainment Tonight. “The thing that’s really fun for me about saying goodbye to a character is they kind of live in you. There will be things that Olivia Pope has given me that always stay with me. She’s changed me.”
Washington said that playing a such a strong female character inspired her to believe, ” I can do anything.” She said, “I don’t know if I would have had kids at this point in my life if she didn’t make me feel like anything is possible.”
The actress and mother said she’ll miss playing Olivia Pope because, “”I feel like she’s given me a lot of courage. So I’ll keep that courage.” She added, “There is so much that has happened, a black woman being the lead on a network show, all of that is so important.”
