The critically acclaimed film “Black Panther” is officially going to have a sequel. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made the announcement Friday, March 9.
Feige was asked about the specifics of the sequel, “nothing specific to reveal” and “we absolutely will do that.”
The Marvel president said they were discussing a “Black Panther 2” while they filmed the first movie. “One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on part one and talking and dreaming about what we would do in part two, Feige said. “There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first ‘Black Panther.'”
Several actors from the movie also came up with possible scenarios of a “Black Panther 2”. Forest Whitaker who played Zuri said, “I guess I would be like an Obi-Wan Kenobi, you know, who comes back, he talks from the ancestral plane to give advice to T’Challa.”
The movie doesn’t have a release date, but Feige said they have a clear direction. “We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.”
