It’s Handled: ‘HTGAWM’ and ‘Scandal’ Crossover Episode In the Works

TGIT fans rejoice! Shonda Rhimes has confirmed reports of a crossover episode of “How To Get Away With Murder” and “Scandal.” The television producer tweeted a photo of the episode’s script Wednesday, Jan. 3 tagging HTGAWM creator Peter Nowalk. It followed teases from Viola Davis and Kerry Washington.

Rumblings of a crossover started when Washington posted an image of herself as Olivia Pope in the Philadelphia courthouse frequented by Davis’ Annalise Keating.

Half an hour later, Davis posted a photo of her as Annalise in the fictional Oval Office.

This marks the first crossover episode in the history of ABC’s TGIT, or “Thank God It’s Thursday” lineup, which also includes “Grey’s Anatomy.” Time was ticking on Annalise and Oliva to appear in the same setting, as “Scandal” is set to wrap up it’s seventh and final season this year.
