Mo’Nique still appears to have hard feelings for Lee Daniels and she let it be known during her comedy show Saturday where she also aired her grievances with Oprah and Tyler Perry.
The comedian-actress made headlines in 2015 for proclaiming Daniels told her she was blackballed for not thanking the filmmakers during the 2009 Oscar campaign for “Precious.”
“No, I was not blackballed,” she said May 13 at the Apollo Theater during “Mo’Nique’s Pre Mother’s Day Comedy Special.” “I was whiteballed by some Black d—- who had no balls. Thank you, Mr. Lee Daniels. Thank you, Mr. Tyler Perry. Thank you, Ms. Oprah Winfrey. No, baby, I wasn’t blackballed. I was f—— up by some n—— who had no balls. And see, I know they like to say, ‘Mo’Nique, you talk too motherf—— much.’ It would kill me not to say the real s—.
“You are not paying me equally. You are not treating me fairly,” she said. “So, y’all can suck my d— if I had one.”
Daniels addressed Mo’Nique’s claim in a 2015 interview with CNN explaining she was “making unreasonable demands.”
“She wasn’t thinking, and this is where reverse racism, I think, happens,” Daniels said. “I said, ‘You have to thank the producers of the film, you have to thank the studio,’ and I think she didn’t understand that. And I said, ‘Listen, people aren’t going to respond well if you don’t.'”
