Update: Serena Williams‘ spokesperson, Kelly Bush Novak, released a statement to the press confirming the news. “I’m happy to confirm Serena is expecting a baby this fall.”
Original: Serena Williams seemed to confirm she’s pregnant with her first child on Snapchat but deleted the post moments later.
Williams, who won her history-making 23rd Grand Slam title in January, posted an image on her very active Snapchat account Wednesday, April 19, with the caption, “20 weeks” as she wore a fitted yellow one-piece. The bump on the tennis pro’s usually flat abdomen and her note seemed to indicate she is 20 weeks into a pregnancy.
Her representatives have not issued a statement.
Although 35-year-old Williams, who is engaged to 33-year-old Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, quickly removed the image, many fans excitedly reacted to news of an impending bundle of joy, which also would be Ohanian’s first child.
