J. Cole announced a surprise follow-up to 2014’s hit album “2014 Forest Hills Drive” by way of an iTunes pre-order appearing online Thursday, Dec. 1. As a result, fans are sharing their excitement with an array of tweets prompting the rapper to become the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter earlier that day.

“4 Your Eyez Only” is Cole’s fourth studio album and is due for release Dec. 9, marking the 2-year anniversary of “Drive’s” release. The rapper’s newest LP, available for $9.99, contains 10 unnamed tracks, but no other details are currently available. One thing of note is the record’s description, which says the effort is “highly anticipated.” That notion is fully supported online.

Demon Child cried virtual happy tears over the possibility that J. Cole will hit the road, which would contradict his Billboard-reported statement at The Meadows Music & Arts Festival in October that his performance would be “my last show for a very long time.”
