Killer Mike Captures Audience When he Points Out Why Poor White People Never Aligned with Poor Black People

Atlanta based rapper and activist Killer Mike gives his assessment on real estate mogul Donald Trump’s ascendancy to the highest office in the land.

On a recent episode of “The Real,” the rapper believes that white people who voted for Trump were disenchanted with the American dream. “I knew people were mad, mad enough to do things I hadn’t expected them to do. So I saw people who looked like me and you say they were voting Trump and that scared me …”

“I think poor white people are mad because the system that promises you something based on that isn’t ever going to give you that … Poor white people during the civil rights movement in Mississippi they were treated as badly as any Black worker. But because there was an imaginary line of race got put there and they can still say they are superior to this person, they never joined with the Black worker to fight better conditions for them all.”

In addition, he says that the Republican party has used militarism, patriotism, and race to galvanize the poor white worker.

However, the Democratic party has mislead Black people. He believes that Black people get Democratic politicians into office, but they fail to enact laws that will cater specifically to the Black community.
