Singer Toni Braxton is resting at home after being hospitalized in serious condition because of her battle with lupus.
According to TMZ, the “Un-Break My Heart” singer stayed in a Los Angeles hospital for four days, where she received treatment for the chronic ailment. Her boyfriend, rapper Birdman reportedly left his concert in New York City to be by Braxton’s side.
Braxton’s representative Maureen O’Connor told the Associated Press the 48-year-old “is resting at home and is fine.” The reality TV show star is not in serious condition, according to O’Connor. However, she noted her client’s disease needs to be monitored continuously.
Braxton – who revealed her diagnosis with the autoimmune disease in 2010 – will kick off The Hits Tour in Oakland, California Oct. 8. O’Connor said the singer plans to begin rehearsing this week.
The Grammy winner’s sister Tamar Braxton also confirmed that Toni was resting at home. She posted an Instagram video of Toni’s sons visiting their mother in the hospital.

“I absolutely HATE when she is sick,” Tamar wrote. “You are home SAFE and we can make you smile even when you’re faking like you feel well enough to laugh at the joke.”
She completed the post with the hashtag #LUPUSSUCKS.
However, this is not the first time Braxton was admitted for issues stemming from her condition. In Jan. 2012, the star landed in the infirmary for what she called a “flare up.”
“I promise you all I am ok!” she tweeted, thanking her fans for their support and concern.
Then, Braxton developed blood clots leading to a brief hospital stay that December. She described the situation as a “minor health issue” related to lupus at the time.
