Americans voted Colin Kaepernick the most disliked athlete in the NFL. A new poll revealed the protesting San Francisco 49er’s standing with the public. The statistics reflect the continuing disdain for Kaepernick’s kneeling during the national anthem prior to games this season.

The quarterback began the demonstration to spotlight the oppression of Black Americans, according to Atlanta Black Star.

ESPN reported E-Poll Marketing Research took the poll last week. It asked 1,100 people matching the demographics of the general population about their thoughts on the NFLer and others.

So, by those statistics, African-Americans made up 12.3 percent of the survey while whites equated 63 percent, according to the newest U.S. census numbers obtained by NBC News.

The poll revealed 29 percent of the country “disliked [Kaepernick] a lot.”

The number trumped the 350-plus other athletes listed.

Jameis Winston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Miami Dolphins’ own Ndamukong Suh followed in the dislike numbers with 22 and 21 percent, respectively. The New England Patriots’ Tom Brady and Pittsburgh Steelers player Ben Roethlisberger were a distant fourth and fifth with dislikings of 13 and 10 percent, respectively.

When E-Poll Marketing took the survey in 2014, Kaepernick was “disliked a lot” by just 6 percent of the population.

But for the rates among white Americans, the number reaches 37 percent in the “dislike a lot” category. The last time the poll ran, only 7 percent of whites felt that way.

On the other hand, just 2 percent of the Black population disliked Kaepernick “a lot.”

Meanwhile, 42 percent of African-Americans said they like Kaepernick a lot. That’s up from 16 percent two years ago when 3 percent selected, “dislike a lot.”

Regardless of the poll’s findings, Twitter is in favor of Kaepernick.

@kwakuspeaks mentioned the QB still had the best-selling jersey.

Kaepernick’s top remains the best seller among 49er’s uniforms on NFL Shop and is the No. 1 seller on the Niners’ apparel website.
