Marshawn Lynch Stands With Kaepernick: ‘I Hope People Open up Their Eyes’

On the Sept. 20 edition of TBS’ “Conan,” former Seahawks player Marshawn Lynch throws his support behind San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick.

It has been nearly a month since Kaepernick began protesting the national anthem.

However, his stance against police brutality has inspired others and vitriol from critics.

Despite the criticism, vicious attacks, and death threats, the QB has held steady to his beliefs.

Subsequently, his courage has gained supporters including former divisional rival Lynch.

“With what’s going on, I’d rather see him take a knee than stand up, put his hands up and get murdered,” Lynch says. “My take on it is, s–t, they got to start somewhere. I just hope people open up their eyes and see that there’s really a problem going on, and something needs to be done for it to stop.”
